Day 5

After the much needed rest yesterday, we had a great practice today as they competed hard against one another and practiced at a level of intensity that I don't often see. After practice we had the opportunity to work out at an Olympic facility that was very near to our practice site. It was such a beautiful facility right on the beach with numerous high level athletes and groups using the track, the weight room and the field. After our 45 minute weight room session, we visited Placa de les Arenes which is a bull ring that has been converted into a high end multi-level shopping mall. Our final destination of the day saw us travel to Montjuic and the site of the 1992 Olympic games. We visited the 65,000 seat stadium where Ben Johnson broke the world record and Palau Sant Jordi, the arena where Michael Jordan and the dream team captured a gold medal. Next to the stadium is the new Olympic sports museum. The only other one like it in the world is in Lausanne Switzerland. The museum was very impressive with it's collection of sports memorabilia and interactive displays. Tomorrow is the first day of the tournament with our first game at 4pm vs. C.S. Roser.
